A special metal alloy combining pure silver, pure gold and palladium. This special silver has been around for ages – it is a very traditional/classic Japanese metal that used to be called "Kinsashi". It has a soft and warm overall tone, and because of its hardness and durability it is perfect for setting diamonds and other gemstones. GLENN successfully made its original blended Kinsashi which we named "GLENN SILVER".

SILVER 925 (スターリングシルバー) Ag/Cu

Pure silver, also called fine silver, is relatively soft, very malleable, and easily damaged so it is commonly combined with other metals to produce a more durable product. The most popular of these alloys is sterling silver, which consists of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Although any metal can make up the 7.5% non-silver portion of sterling, centuries of experimentation have shown copper to be its best companion, improving the metal's hardness and durability without affecting its beautiful color.

Copper is a reddish-colored metal which has been used for tableware and jewelry for a long time. After a certain processing method, pure copper changes in color to bright red or to dark reddish purple/dark brownish red which we call "Hidou". Adding pure gold to copper will produce "Shakudou", and adding pure silver will turn it to "Shibuichi", which are made from two different processing methods that change the metal's color into gray and black. Because copper holds many possibilities for representing various colors, it is one of the most important metals for GLENN jewelry.
